You’re Hired!
What key words must be on your resume? How do employers choose candidates to interview from among the thousands of resumes they receive? What is the appropriate number of pages for your resume? How do you answer those difficult interview questions? What is the “hidden job market”? This workshop series will answer these questions and a lot more.If you are looking to find a new job, thinking about changing careers, or planning to return to the workforce, you should attend this 3-session workshop series. You will build the skills and confidence needed to market yourself in this economy and highly competitive job market in order to land your next job. You will learn how to write an effective and winning resume and cover letter that will get you the interview. You will also learn how to develop and implement an effective job search strategy by understanding what happens behind the scenes when an employer is looking to fill a position. And finally, you will prepare and practice for different types of interviews.
This informative and highly interactive workshop series is conducted by Gregg A. Knowles, a human resources professional with over 25 years of Fortune 500 experience. His strong background in recruiting and talent acquisition and insider knowledge will help you hear the words….”You’re hired!”

The idea of the American Dream is ubiquitous in society today - and yet, for most people, the American Dream is a vague and undefined notion we all take for granted without too much conscious thought about what it means.
This series of five books discussions will examine what the American Dream is through a variety of texts. Join with a group of readers to understand and express your vision of the American Dream. Copies of all the books will be available at the Library.
The introductory session will include a description of the program and discussion guidelines, with a brief introductionto the series theme and to each of the five texts. A reading of the Declaration of Independence will be included.Age Group:Adult
