Linda Pastan (May 27, 1932 – January 30, 2023) was an American poet of Jewish background. From 1991 to 1995 she was Poet Laureate of Maryland. She was known for writing short poems that address topics like family life, domesticity, motherhood, the female experience, aging, death, loss and the fear of loss, as well as the fragility of life and relationships. Her most recent collections of poetry include Insomnia, Traveling Light, and A Dog Runs Through It. Pastan published 15 books of poetry and a number of essays. Two of her collections of poems were nominated for the National Book Award and one for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize.

Researcher Jerry Kuntz will look at the life and personality of famous hunting and field sports writer Henry William Herbert, who's pen name was "Frank Forester", and his portrayal of Warwick area wildlife, people, and locations. Writing in the early 19th century, Herbert's prolific best sellers and artwork showed detailed understanding of and appreciation for the natural world from a hunter's viewpoint, while at the same time his personal life was an unfolding tragedy.

Come and meet new friends and join in on a game that is played all over the world. Mahjongg enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to play every Tuesday from 10am to 1pm. The sessions are open-ended and participants can play as many or as few games as they wish. Players with mahjongg sets are encouraged to bring them, as the Library has a limited number to loan. This program is free, ongoing and open to players from all communities.
