Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries is a humorous look at our everyday lives, based on selections read and adapted from pieces by authors Erma Bombeck, Nora and Delia Ephron, Jerry Seinfeld and Judith Viorst and performed by the Maturely Motivated Players of the Elmwood Playhouse.
The Maturely Motivated Players is a mature troupe composed of senior theater lovers, who have been involved in many aspects of Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack for many years. This show is a light-hearted perspective on all aspects of their everyday lives based on the writing of well-known humorous authors and comedians.

October 23: Death on the Nile (2022) The second big screen adaptation of Agatha Christie’s 1937 novel (the first film in 1978); Kenneth Branagh directs and stars as Hercule Poirot who, while on vacation on the Nile, must investigate the murder of a young heiress. Ensemble cast includes Tom Bateman, Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Gal Gadot, Armie Hammer, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey, Sophie Okonedo, Jennifer Saunders and Letitia Wright. Rated PG-13, 2 hours 7 minutes.
Come and meet new friends and join in on a game that is played all over the world. Mahjongg enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to play every Tuesday from 10am to 1pm. The sessions are open-ended and participants can play as many or as few games as they wish. Players with mahjongg sets are encouraged to bring them, as the Library has only a limited number to loan. This program is free, ongoing and open to players from all communities.
