Based on John Van Druten’s 1950 Broadway play, it stars James Stewart and Kim Novak, and features Jack Lemmon, Ernie Kovacs. Hermione Gingold, Elsa Lanchester and Janice Rule. Gillian Holroyd (Novak) is a modern-day witch living in Greenwich Village; she fancies her new neighbor, publisher Shep Henderson (Stewart), and despises his fiancée - so she uses her cat, Pyewacket, to cast a love spell on him. Embark on a journey of exploration as we delve into this unique presentation, examining political unrest spanning two continents, tax maps, family ancestry, legal-historical elements, and a recurring mental health phenomenon that spans centuries. Be a part of this engaging exploration, as we delve deep into the authentic history behind the Salem Witch Trials.

Shannon Fisher is an active member of the Salem and Peabody historical societies in Essex County, Massachusetts. She is a self-professed "professional amateur historian” and an extensive focus on medieval history and disaster studies. In her role as a professional Emergency Manager with Orange County, she combines her 20 years expertise in disaster analysis from her time in the US Air Force with a unique historical framework.

Come and meet new friends and join in on a game that is played all over the world.  Mahjongg enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to play every Tuesday from 10am to 1pm. The sessions are open-ended and participants can play as many or as few games as they wish.  Players with mahjongg sets are encouraged to bring them, as the Library has only a limited number to loan. This program is free, ongoing and open to players from all communities.
