The gently flowing movements of Qigong & Taijiquan, known more simply as Tai Chi, are ancient Chinese practices widely recognized for promoting many health benefits. These include improved balance, better posture, enhanced energy, and calmness of mind. In this series of 6 sessions, participants will learn standing meditation, simple qigong exercises, and some basic taijiquan postures.
Classes will be conducted outdoors, weather permitting, and are limited to 30 participants. Registration is required for each individual session. Registration for all sessions is not required.

Ages 4-8. Meet animals that prefer to come out at night.

Explore with Susan Handler the symbolism encoded in art. Participants will investigate the paintings of Renoir, van Eyck, Picass and selection of international graffiti.

Make a Lightning bug jar for your summer evening fun! This is a child and adult helper craft. Recommended for children 5 and up.

Together we will read the story Joha Makes a Wish by Eric Kimmel, a story abouta poor man who finds trouble when he finds a wish stick. We will discuss the story and make our own wish sticks.

Grades K-3. Using the sun and special paper, we will create pictures and designs.
