In Honor of Earth Day: My Octopus Teacher (2020) Oscar-winning documentary stars South African naturalist and co-founder of the Sea Change Project, Craig Foster. After years of swimming every day in the freezing ocean at the tip of Africa, Foster meets an unlikely teacher a young octopus who displays remarkable curiosity. Visiting her den and tracking her movements for months on end he eventually wins the animal's trust and they develop a never before seen bond between human and wild animal. Come and meet new friends and join in on a game that is played all over the world. Mahjong enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to play every Tuesday from 10am to 1pm. The sessions are open-ended and participants can play as many or as few games as they wish. Players with mahjong sets are encouraged to bring them, as the Library has only a limited number to loan. This program is free, ongoing and open to players from all communities.

Our favorite therapy dogs are back to hear you read. If you can't read on your own, a caregiver can read for you.

Use a marker and sketch pad to draw a picture of a word on a card. Pass it to your neighbor to guess your word. The fun begins as each player guesses what was drawn. Miscommunication at its best! No drawing skills needed. For grades 4-7.
