Come and meet new friends and join in on a game that is played all over the world. Mahjong enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to play every Tuesday from 10am to 1pm. The sessions are open-ended and participants can play as many or as few games as they wish. Players with mahjong sets are encouraged to bring them, as the Library has only a limited number to loan. Join Wickham Works for a four week series of workshops designed for mature adults of all abilities, along with their family members and caregivers. The program is intended to engage participants with an uplifting combination of music, art, and crafts in a community recreation space. The sessions begin with 15 minutes of music and movement, alternating between choreographer and dance teacher Linda Mensch, and musician, conductor, and Conductorcise® inventor David Dworkin. After a brief break, participants gather for an art or craft activity led by artist Jenny Torino. All activities are adaptable for seated participation and are designed to suit all skill levels. The primary goal of the program is to enhance seniors' quality of life by offering a weekly social gathering that encourages them to stay active, independent, and engaged with their community. Attendance at all four sessions is strongly encouraged.
