Join the Warwick Valley Humane Society to hear about pet adoption and meet a furry friend or two! We'll also be displaying the works of art made by teens that show some of the pets available for adoption now. After, there will be a craft for kids to make something to help our pals with paws!

Howard Horowitz Poetry Reading
Howard Horowitz will read “The Wawayanda Watershed” and other poems. Howard Horowitz is the Author of “Close to the Ground”, a book of tree planting poems. Horowitz is famous for creating cartographic works that visually integrate geography, history and poetry. He is a Professor Emeritus in Geography from Ramapo College, and has written about forestry and environmental science as well as poetry.
Music on McFarland presents Harmonic Duets
Flutists Susan Graham and Mardee Reed-Ulmer will present a program of duets from the Baroque and Classical eras and 20th century. Susan and Mardee will speak briefly about the pieces and composers and entertain questions.

Wildlife of Warwick
Jay Westerveld will talk about some of our more unique "critters" and ecosystems that make Warwick special and offer tips on how and where residents can go out and see some of Warwick's more interesting and rare wild things! He will be bringing along a turtle or two, as well as tadpoles/frogs. But no snakes!

"Frank Forester" and the Warwick Woodlands: A New Look
Researcher Jerry Kuntz will look at the life and personality of famous hunting and field sports writer Henry William Herbert, whose pen name was "Frank Forester", and his portrayal of Warwick area wildlife, people, and locations. Writing in the early 19th century, Herbert's prolific best sellers and artwork showed detailed understanding of and appreciation for the natural world from a hunter's viewpoint, while at the same time his personal life was an unfolding tragedy.
