The String Trio of New York is an internationally-known chamber jazz group featuring James Emery on guitar, Rob Thomas on violin, and John Lindberg on bass. Since their founding in 1977, the trio has performed regularly at jazz festivals such as Ravinia and Newport, and has been featured on National Public Radio's Weekend Edition and on PRI's International Concerts.

Howard Horowitz is the author of Close to the Ground. His map poems, combining poetry and geology, have appeared in the New York Times and in literary journals. An open mic will follow the reading.

Come learn the fundamentals of drawing with local artist Rob Wright. Please feel free to bring a sample of your drawings! Materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own drawing pencils.
