Doc Bayne of the Friends of Sterling Forest will present an illustrated lecture on the history of the Sterling Furnace and Forge, and its role in creation of the Great Chain across the Hudson River during the Revolutionary War.  This lecture will include updates on the recent discovery of the actual forge site.

A respected musicologist once referred to The Beatles as one of the most transforming entities of 20th century music and claimed that they changed the course of popular music forever.  Can that possibly be true?  Were they really so much more than just four rock ‘n roll “mop tops”?  What made them such a strong a force that they’re still popular 50 years later?  In this single-session class, we will explore with Barry Wiesenfeld, the phenomenon that was The Beatles - their growth, musical innovations, lyric depth and originality.

Korean Lotus Flower Lantern Workshop

Members of the Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project will teach you how to make lovely traditional lotus flower lanterns using colorful paper and wire frames.  All materials provided.  Traditional Korean refreshments will be served.

A Very Brief Intro to Jazz with Barry Wiesenfeld
