Photographer and author Francesco Mastalia will discuss his new book, ORGANIC: Farmers and Chefs of the Hudson Valley. It features dedicated farmers committed to growing and producing food using sustainable methods, and chefs who echo their beliefs and pay homage to the food they produce. The portraits were photographed using the wet plate collodion process, a technique developed in the mid-19th century when photography was in its infancy.
THE PROGRAM IS CANCELLED. THIS MOVIE WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR EARLY NEXT YEAR.
Book Hipsters meet to discuss favorite books, share reading suggestions, and review books. Also? Access to advanced reading copies! New members are always welcome.
Do you have a favorite poem? One you read as a child, in high school, in college or perhaps yesterday. Come and share it with us. All ages are encouraged to participate. There is only one rule: that the poems read are not poems the readers or their friends have written. We ask that you choose poems that are written by poets like Walt Whitman; Emily Dickinson, Langston Hughes, William Carlos Williams, etc. Every reader is allotted five minutes to read and give a brief reason why that poem was chosen.
