While a home solar system can be a great investment, not every home is suitable for a solar installation. New York residents have the opportunity to sign up for community solar, but the options can be confusing. This presentation will provide an overview of solar options by Sustainable Warwick along with descriptions of contrasting community models by representatives of Solstice and SunCommon. Join us to learn how the worst alternative for consumers is to decline a solar option.
Local historian Sue Gardner will present material from her new book, "Pure Necessity: Revolution at Warwick," which tells the story of the Warwick Valley during the Revolutionary War using original documents, eyewitness testimony and oral traditions. The research was completed by the author and many volunteer transcribers over the past 20 years, as part of the Friends of Hathorn House's project to discover the true history of Gen. John Hathorn, his militia, and the people of our area during the late 1700s. Copies will be available for purchase & signing.
THERE IS NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED FOR THIS DROP-IN PROGRAM. Discover some of the stories hidden in the landscape as you walk from the Library to Hallowed Ground Park (corner intersection of Forester Ave. & Galloway Rd.) with local history librarian Sue Gardner. The group will meet at the Library's reading garden and walk to solve a puzzle as you gather clues along the way.
