Book:Mercy Watson to The Rescue by Kate Dicamillo
This is a two part project.
Session 1: This group project begins with printmaker's rollers and paint to make a background. Everyone will finish a section in their own way using mixed media.
Grades 4-7
Compete with your friends to identify the world famous locations shown on our postcards . All players will take home some postcards.

Cut metal sheets into shapes, figures, animals, words or abstract designs and arange them on a single color background. Can be flat or 3-D.
Brush and ink has been used since ancient times in China for both writing as well as art.
Have fun learning the basics of this art form, the origins of Chinese words, and how to paint subjects such as bamboo and animals.
Leave with a framed work of your art.

Pizza dough, olive oil, salt and herbs make a delicious bread, and while we're waiting, let's play Bananagrams! - Its a mad dash to make words using lettered tiles; out think your friends.
