Find out everything you need to know about volunteering at this year’s Warwick Children’s Book Festival, which is Sat. Oct., 7. You’ll also sign up for shifts at the Festival and get your volunteer t-shirt. 

Attendance is required to volunteer on the day of the Festival. 

October 2:  Empire of Light (2022) Academy Award® winning director and writer Sam Mendes’ poignant love letter to the movies; Set in and around a faded old cinema in an English coastal town in the early 1980’s, it stars Olivia Colman as Hilary, a cinema manager struggling with her mental health, and Micheal Ward as Stephen, a new employee longing to escape the provincial town where he faces daily adversity. Together they find a sense of belonging and experience the healing power of music, cinema, and community. Rated R: 1 hour 55 minutes.

Join our monthly book group, where we explore a variety of popular fiction titles. Whether you're into contemporary bestsellers, captivating mysteries, or thought-provoking dramas, this group is the perfect place to dive into great reads and engage in lively discussions with fellow book lovers. All readers welcome!  We meet every first Tuesday of the month.

Due to rain, the book festival will be held at Warwick Valley Middle School Gym - 225 West Street.

Calling all the young and young at heart to Warwick Valley Middle School Gym (225 West Street, Warwick) for the 2023 Warwick Children's Book Festival.  Dozens of distinguished authors and illustrators of books for children will be on hand to autograph their books (for purchase on site) and talk with their readers.  Free admission.  Free concert for children by The Uncle Brothers at 12:00, Food Trucks, and kid's craft area.  Therapy dogs will be on hand to listen to children read their new books aloud.

The Festival is presented by Albert Wisner Public Library, and sponsored principally by Library benefactors Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes.  The Village of Warwick, Price Chopper of Warwick and the Warwick Valley Farmers' Market also support the Festival.
