AWPL Classic Monday - Mr. Smith Goes to Washington (1939) Frank Capra’s timeless classic stars Jimmy Stewart, Jean Arthur and Claude Rains; naive and idealistic Jefferson Smith (Stewart), leader of the Boy Rangers, a newly- appointed US Senator fights against a corrupt political system. The film was controversial upon release - but a box office success – and it put Stewart on the Hollywood map. Not rated: 2 hours 9 minutes.

Come and meet new friends and join in on a game that is played all over the world. Mahjong enthusiasts of all skill levels are invited to play every Tuesday from 10am to 1pm. The sessions are open-ended and participants can play as many or as few games as they wish. Players with mahjong sets are encouraged to bring them, as the Library has only a limited number to loan. This program is free, ongoing and open to players from all communities.
