In 1925, Alfred Hitchcock directed his first film, The Pleasure Garden. 101 years later, we’ll revisit the master’s career, focusing on his technical prowess and political conscience. The conversation on January 16th will focus on the Hitch classic Rear Window (1954). We encourage you to view the film before the lecture; copies of the film be available for check-out.

Jeff Hughes is a PhD student in American Studies at Rutgers University-Newark, after earning multiple degrees from the Martin Scorsese Department of Cinema Studies at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He is a frequent film lecturer at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, NY.
