Ever dream of dancing like you’re in Pride & Prejudice? Join us for “A Most Agreeable Assembly” — an enchanting afternoon of Regency and English country dancing! No experience nor partner needed!  Under the guidance of dance master Niel V. De Marino, you’ll learn the graceful steps and lively group dances that lit up ballrooms and garden parties centuries ago.  Light refreshements will be served.

Niel V. De Marino began dancing at an early age, first in classical styles and later as a teacher of Irish dance in New York City. A passion for history led him to become a Revolutionary War re-enactor and living historian, demonstrating 18th-century life through cooking, tailoring, dance, and social graces. He appeared in PBS’s The American Experience films John & Abigail Adams and Alexander Hamilton. Since 2007, he has performed in numerous Amherst Early Music Festival productions, including works by Cavalli, Conradi, Purcell, Scarlatti, and Telemann. In 2003, he co-founded In Good Company, a period dance troupe presenting 18th-century and Regency dances in authentic costume. Niel has taught Baroque and country dance and studied with Dorrie Olsson, Kaspar Mainz, Amherst Early Music Festival, and The New York Baroque Dance Company.
