What’s it like to start a school for refugee children? Or to be a cartoon character creator? What does a sound bath feel like? Come experience the joy of how stories can connect, engage and inspire us!
Often, we don’t know much about the work of others, but this series offers a glimpse into “A Day in the Life" of local residents.
- Ellen Burleigh has worked and traveled in the Mideast, most recently in Mafraq, Jordan which is a small desert town situated near Jordan’s border with Syria. Ellen will share her heart-breaking experience of starting a K-3 school for displaced Syrian refugee children whose education had been disrupted because of the war, and the stories she listened to as she visited the children’s families in their makeshift homes.
- Keith Manzella has been creatingThe Flintstones’ adventures on boxes of Fruity Pebbles since 1997 and will share how his career at Marvel and DC Comics ultimately led him to the local cereal aisle. Just what does a day in the life of a character creator entail and how is a box of Fruity Pebbles designed? These questions and more will be answered!
- Growing up around a meditation center allowed sound healer, Nav Kaur, to witness alternative healing methods from an early age. From selecting the perfect singing bowls, working with post-operative patients and even animals, to conducting sound baths in a pool, Nav will share how different frequencies aid in therapeutic healing. Discover, and even get a taste first hand, how primordial sounds can help you relax, shift your mindset, and provide physical healing.
