How was Stephen Crane - who never served in the Civil War - able to portray accurately the experiences of the soldiers who served? This presentation will show how Crane, who grew up in Port Jervis, NY, researched and used many sources for his war story. The regiment that inspired and informed his fictitious 304th New York was the famed "Orange Blossoms," the 124th New York at the Battle of Chancellorsville.
In the early years of the last century, a fresh breeze from Europe blew through the worlds of literature, art and music - a movement called "Modernism.” It was also the time of Wiener Werkstatte design in innovative furniture, colorful and original textiles, and astonishing interior decoration. Ilonka Karasz was part of this modern movement.

All participants are entitled to one free 3D print from the Library! Space is limited!
Come to the Library's third puzzle competition! Teams of up to four people will do their best to complete a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle within a set time period. Sign up as a team of four or individuals; individuals will be placed into a group. Join us for a night of fun!
