Capoeira is an exuberant martial art that combines high energy rhythms with exciting acrobatic movements. The art was created by Afro-Brazilians slaves during Brazil's colonial period. Because they were not allowed to practice any form of self-defense nor to use weapons, enslaved Afro-Brazilians disguised their training to look like a dance.
Join us for an afternoon of dance, martial arts and traditional songs and rhythms.
Join Rhonda Denet and the Silver Fox Trio for a review of classic Rhythm & Blues and Soul music of the 1960s and '70s. Featured songs were made famous by The Supremes, Mary Wells, Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and others. Through the music, the magic and the message, there is something for everyone!
