Mason Jar Science for grades K-3: Using home-available ingredients, do real science in a Mason jar! Make clay, a balloon barometer, bend light, create crystals and grow a plant. Register beginning December 19 to reserve your jar and other supplies. A video will be released on each of 5 consecutive Wednesdays: January 13, 20, 27; February 3, 10. Supplies will be available on the Children's cart starting January 8.
Kids' Cake Decorating Competition - we'll give you a bag of ingredients: you bake and decorate a cake with a winter theme using these ingredients. Send us a picture of your cake. We'll post the picture and let our patrons decide which cake is the prettiest, funniest, best depiction of winter. Prizes for all bakers! Starting January 18 through January 24. Two categories: K-2 and 3-5. Register beginning December 19 to reserve your bag of supplies. Winners announced January 27.
My Family Tree - how did I get my name? Tell me a funny story about our family. Open a conversation about your family and fill in the family tree. We'll also hear a story or two, and talk about family trees. For families. Register beginning December 19 to reserve your bag of supplies, then watch the video beginning Saturday, March 6. Feed the Birds! Help feed your backyard friends. Make a bird feeder for this winter season. For families. Register beginning December 19 to reserve your craft supplies. Supplies available on the Children's cart beginning Friday, January 15.
Valentine's Day Butterfly Treat: register to reserve a bag of supplies, then watch the video to see how to make some sweet Valentine's Day treats. For families. Register beginning December 19. Bags of supplies will be on the Children's cart starting Friday, February 12. The video will be released on Saturday, February 13 at 12:00pm.
Dino-Mountain Take & Make - pick up the supplies to create a dinosaur scene, including small dinosaurs. Register beginning December 19 to reserve your bag of supplies. Supplies will be on the Children's cart starting January 8.
