Experience the beauty and pleasure of the Japanese way of tea in a traditional manner. Presented by the Mid-Hudson Japanese Community Association.
The program is limited to 25 for tea service but all those on the waiting list are invited to attend as an audience.
Members of the Mid-Hudson Japanese Community Association will be on hand to demonstrate the art of origami. Learn to fold colorful papers into simple figures. Compete in fun games filled with laughter. For families with children ages 3+.

Japanese embroidery is an embroidery technique that goes back more than 1600 years. Initially only used to decorate items used during religious ceremonies, it gradually took on a more artistic purpose. Betty Hill will demonstrate her art and discuss her experience at the Kurani Kai School of Embroidery in Japan.
This two-hour educational workshop will address:
> Some of the developmental issues young children face> Does early academic instruction benefit young children and give them an edge?> How does academic instruction too soon affect a child's self-esteem?> What king of learning experiences are best?> How can research on early childhood development help us make the world more inviting and supportive for young children?
Join us for a reception honoring our Vets of the Vietnam era. This is an opportunity for Veterans and their families to meet others in the community who served at that time and to see the Library's Tribute Display to these Vets.
