Japanese Favorites - Cooking Demonstration
This program will focus on Japanese cuisine, especially sushi. Nutritional aspects will be discussed. Presentation will conclude with a demonstration and sampling.

Sara de Maine Kearns has been a world traveler her entire life. She plans and escorts trips to the African continent. Teaming up with Dr. Richard Hull, a specialist on Africa who teaches at NYU, this program will ignite your curiousity for the possibility of a safari.

The Joys of Hiking - Learn How to Get Started in Hiking from the Experts
Peter Reiner and Aaron Schoenberg, members of the Adirondack Mountain Club, are both avid hikers of the ADK North Jersey Ramapo Chapter. "The Joys of Hiking" will discuss how to get started in hiking as well as information on the numerous trails located in the lower Hudson Valley and northern New Jersey areas. They will also describe the hiking trails in Sterling Forest, Harriman Park, Bear Mountain Park and Black Rock Forest. Various equipment - back packs, hiking boots, hiking poles, maps, outdoor clothing - will also be discussed. A question-and-answer session will follow.
Documentary Film: Queen of the Sun: What Are the Bees Telling Us?
As part of the Library's Earth Day celebration, we will screen Queen of the Sun: What Are the Bees Telling Us? in the Community Room at 3:00pm. Open to adults and attentive younger viewers; registration is required.This 2010 documentary from Taggart Siegel, director of The Real Dirt on Farmer John, is a profound alternative examination of the global bee crisis.
