Join the Warwick Atelier at an opening reception in celebration of their third annual exhibition at the library. Students and their instructor, Susan Hope Fogel, will participate in a gallery talk about the paintings and the related creative experience. Studio paintings, as well as landscape paintings done on location in Warwick, Tuscany, Italy and Cape Cod, Massachusetts during the Atleier's plein air painting workshops. All are invited.
Each participant will craft two originally-designed cards: one for Thanksgiving and one for Christmas. Techniques will include dry embossing, heat embossing, paper layering, use of embellishment and decorative papers. There is a $5 non-refundable materials fee due at the time of in-person registration at the Help Desk.
Space is limited to Warwick cardholders until October 13; after this date, there will be open registration.

Photographer and author Francesco Mastalia will discuss his new book, ORGANIC: Farmers and Chefs of the Hudson Valley. It features dedicated farmers committed to growing and producing food using sustainable methods, and chefs who echo their beliefs and pay homage to the food they produce. The portraits were photographed using the wet plate collodion process, a technique developed in the mid-19th century when photography was in its infancy.
