The gently flowing movements of Qigong & Taijiquan, known more simply as Tai Chi, are ancient Chinese practices widely recognized for promoting many health benefits. These include improved balance, better posture, enhanced energy, and calmness of mind. In this series of 6 sessions, participants will learn standing meditation, simple qigong exercises, and some basic taijiquan postures.
Classes will be conducted outdoors, weather permitting, and are limited to 30 participants. Registration is required for each individual session. Registration for all sessions is not required.

Join us for evening of song with internationally acclaimed vocalist Gabriele Tranchina. Gabriele brings to her music a worldview -- using music as a force for wholeness, a source of unity and energy for all. The underlying rhythmic pulse of the music spans gooves from Brazil, the Afro-Caribbean world, Jazz and European Art song.

Loosely based on an article inThe New York Times Magazine and on the Demeter-Persephone myth, Manhattan Transits deals with homelessness in New York. A tragedy with some comic relief, this play was presented at the Women Playwrights International Conference in Stockholm, Sweden in August 2012.
