Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue turned 100 last year, marking a century since its sensational 1924 premiere at Aeolian Hall. The piece catapulted Gershwin from Broadway songwriter to a celebrated symphonic composer and remains the most performed classical work by any American.

To honor this milestone, The Kemyndable Trio (Deborah Proulx,  Amy Klein, and Ken Korn) will present a concert-lecture exploring Gershwin’s life and music. The program features highlights from Rhapsody in Blue, Porgy and Bess, Promenade, and timeless songs like The Man I Love and Someone to Watch Over Me, accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation placing his work in historical and musical context.
