Discover the art of sustainable creativity! Learn how to make beautiful, eco-friendly paper using kombucha SCOBYs. In this hands-on workshop led by Nikki Romanello, you’ll explore how fermented cellulose can be transformed into unique, leather-like sheets perfect for art, journaling, or craft projects. No experience necessary—all materials provided.

Nikki Romanello has long been inspired by the natural world. She earned her BFA in Interdisciplinary Sculpture with a concentration in Photography from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she developed a passion for metal sculpture, and later completed her MFA in Sculpture at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Nikki has worked with institutions such as the Baltimore Museum of Art, New Arts Foundry, and the University of Maryland Iron Pour, as well as artists Will Ryman and Robert Lazzarini. A former artist-in-residence at Hot Wood Art Center, she has exhibited her work in a solo Bio Art show at the University Science Center in Philadelphia. Currently, she teaches art and science at Brooklyn Brainery and Genspace while continuing her interdisciplinary research. Learn more at nikkiromanello.com.
