Your guides are The Gravikord Duo: Bob Grawi, inventor of the Gravikord and his wife Pip Klein on flute and percussion. The Gravikord, a double electric harp based on the West African kora, is one of the world’s newest harps and in 2018 was added to the permanent musical instrument collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A slide show outlines the evolution of the harp and is enhanced with personal stories, readings and a mix of original and international live musical selections. The couple, based in Orange County, NY has been performing their unique blend of “new folk chamber jazz” for fascinated audiences worldwide since 1988.
This project is made possible with funds from the New York State Legislature and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.
