Building Connections through Play Cafes and Time Banks

Family Central and We the People Warwick invites residents to learn about the concepts of a Play Cafe and a Time Bank – both designed to strengthen connection in Warwick. This interactive program will introduce participants to the principles behind both models and engage them in collaborative reflection and discussion about how they reduce isolation and build mutual support.  Participants will learn how Play Cafés create welcoming drop-in spaces where children can play and explore while caregivers relax and connect — often with coffee or light refreshments available. They will also explore how Time Banks enable neighbors of all ages to exchange skills and services using time as currency — one hour given equals one hour earned — recognizing that everyone’s contributions have value. The facilitated dialogue will then move to the topic of how to bring these initiatives to fruition in Warwick.
