November and December give us wonderful reasons to gather—sharing food, friendship, and gratitude for the poetry mentors who continue to inspire us. We’re thrilled to announce that Circle on Voices will welcome a special guest on Tuesday, November 12th at 6:30 PM: poetry enthusiast and renowned harpist Ann Carter-Cox, who will help usher us into the season with song and harp.

Circle members are invited to bring one or two poems to share—either a poem you admire or one you’d like to discuss with the group. Over the past months, we’ve explored a range of poetic traditions: formal and modern poetry, British classics, and Native American verse—especially meaningful as we reflect during Thanksgiving. In celebration of Jane Austen’s 250th birthday this December, we encourage you to bring a piece either by Austen herself or by a poet from her era, such as Keats, Coleridge, Wordsworth, or Blake. With so many voices we’ve encountered, your chosen “cèilidh companion” is sure to spark lively conversation. Our table is wide, and we welcome all.

This promises to be a memorable and joyful evening—Ann’s generous offer to sing and play harp will add a magical touch as we step into winter together.
