AWPL Foundation College Scholarship

Since 2007, the Albert Wisner Public Library Foundation has sponsored college scholarships, awarded annually through an essay competition.  College-bound high school seniors who reside within the Library’s service district – specifically, the Warwick Valley Central School District — are welcome and invited to participate in the essay competition, whether or not they attend Warwick Valley High School.  Essays are welcome from college-bound home-schooled students. Three $2,500.00 scholarships are offered, sponsored by Library benefactors Glenn P. and Susan D. Dickes (seen above) and one anonymous donor.

The essay topic for 2025 is:  Choose a brief passage from a book that is meaningful to you and which has influenced your perspective on life, and describe that influence.  Essays are due by Friday, April 11, 2025 at 5pm.  Here are complete essay submission guidelines.  For more information, or if you have any questions, please call the Help Desk at (845) 986-1047, option 4.
