Policy for Use of Meeting Rooms

Albert Wisner Public Library’s Policy for Use of Meeting Rooms, which includes procedures and a fee schedule, affirms the American Library Association’s “Library Bill of Rights Concerning Meeting Rooms,”:

As an institution of education for democratic living, the Library should welcome the use of its meeting rooms, for socially useful and cultural activities. Such meeting places should be available on equal terms to all not-for-profit groups in the community regardless of the beliefs and affiliations of their members, provided that the meetings be open to the public.

Drop-in use of the Board Room and Community Room is available on a first-come, first-served basis for a maximum of 2 hours when the room is not being used for a Library program. Please inquire at the Help Desk if you would like to use one of the rooms on a drop-in basis.  To reserve either room for a date in the future, please first review the policy above, then call Siobhan at (845) 986-1047, ext. 6.
