Matthew S. Field

Name:  Matthew S. FieldMatthew S. Field

Biographical Information:  A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Field is a University of Missouri alumnus where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Later, he earned an M.B.A. from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania. Field moved with his wife and two daughters to Warwick, New York in 2003. Shortly after settling into their new home, Field received two life-changing pieces of news:  the couple would welcome their third child the following spring, and Field’s wife had late-stage occult metastatic breast cancer.  On June 19, 2004, the couple welcomed a son. Exactly one year later, ‘Father Like A Tree’ was published. Tragically, Field’s wife succumbed to her illness in February of 2005 and did not see the completed work.  Although today Field occasionally speaks professionally and provides business consulting services, he is primarily a full-time stay-at-home dad for his three children. He writes and publishes when he can find the time.

Featured BookThe Three Pigs, Business School, and Wolfe Hash Stew.  What if a fairytale offered a young reader not only an expectation of how to treat others, but also a road map to a future of personal success and happiness?  The Three Pigs grow up in a place where love and trust are valued, so they learn to care for one another and to be sympathetic to other pigs. In their home, the question is not “Will the Three Pigs make a contribution to society?” Rather, the question is “What will that contribution be?”  Field’s funny, insightful moral is updated and will be appreciated by child and parent alike.
