
Who can use Homebound Library Services?
Homebound Library Services are available to any Albert Wisner Public Library cardholder who is unable to visit the library due to disability, long-term or chronic illness, lack of transportation, or other difficulty.
What library materials can be checked out?
The following materials can be checked out through Homebound Library Services:
- Large Print Books
- Standard Print Books
- Books on CD
- DVDs
- Music CDs
- E-reading devices
- Portable CD players
- Portable DVD players
There is a limit of six items per mailing and/or delivery address. Some electronic devices cannot be shipped.
Who chooses the library materials?
Patrons can request specific titles, have library staff select materials based on personal interest, or a combination of both.
Which Homebound Library Service is right for you?
Books By Mail
Materials will arrive in a canvas mail bag to the address listed on the application. Materials will be returned in the same bag; a pre-paid shipping label will be included.
Books to Go
Materials will be delivered by either library staff or a volunteer associated with one of our partner agencies. Deliveries will be coordinated ahead of time and pick-ups may be scheduled at the time of delivery.
