Chocolat (2000) Lasse Hallström’s charming film based on Joanne Harris’1999 novel stars Juliette Binoche, Johnny Depp and Judi Dench; When single mother Vianne Rocher (Binoche) and her six-year-old daughter, Anouk, move to rural France and open a chocolate shop, with Sunday hours, they are met with some skepticism.
