Name: Laurie Calkhoven
Biographical Information: Laurie Calkhoven has always been interested in what happens to “regular people” during big events in American history like the Siege of Boston and the Battle of Gettysburg. Wondering about those people led her to create the characters and stories in the Boys of Wartime series. She is the author of many other fiction and nonfiction books for children and teens, including titles in the new Innerstar University series from American Girl.
