Name: Maryrose Wood
Biographical Information: Maryrose Wood started her career by acting on Broadway and doing improv comedy. After earning her stripes as a playwright and screenwriter, she began writing fiction for middle-grade and teen readers. The Mysterious Howling, the first book in The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place series, was named a Best Children’s Book of 2010 by Kirkus Reviews, the Christian Science Monitor, the New York Public Library and others. Book 2, The Hidden Gallery, is a Junior Library Guild selection and a Kid’s Indie Next pick. Maryrose teaches fiction writing at Lehman College and is available for school and library visits.
