We are all actors in a real-time cultural and environmental drama. It can be scary and confusing, but also rewarding and incredibly creative, and we need hope and a vision. Susanne’s recently-published book, Deep Living, offers that vision. The author will talk about putting meaning and quality back into everyday life by creating win-win scenarios. This requires a shift in values, away from “profit above all” quantification, and our usual win-lose scenarios, to a value-based culture that is cooperative, sustainable, compassionate, and transparent. Deep Living urges readers to go deeper and imagine a good-for-all, not just a good-for-some, culture.Location:AWPL Community RoomAge Group:Adult

Newburgh Chamber Music Ensemble performs "Romantic Music for a Sunday Afternoon," a concert which will feature light-hearted and delightful music by Dvorak, Telemann, Godard, Cui, and Nielsen. Performers are fine regional musicians, including violinist Carole Cowan, oboist Joel Evans, cellist Susan Seligman, and pianist Ruthanne Schempf. Colleagues in the Hudson Valley Philharmonic and at the State University of New York at New Paltz, these musicians have distinguished individual careers as well as a long history of collaboration.
Carole Cowan is a founder and Artistic Director of Newburgh Chamber Music, which is celebrating its 16th year of presenting a variety of performing ensembles in the heart of historic Newburgh. Performing in duo, trio, and quartet combinations, the informal concert will include discussion of the pieces and a time for questions from the audience.
