Local historian Sue Gardner will present some of the local folkways and tales contained in Eliza Benedict Hornby's "Under Old Rooftrees". The book was published in 1908 after a lifetime of collecting stories of her family and neighbors, reaching back in time to colonial days. What were the seasonal gatherings? What was life like? What astonishing phenomena and events did they witness? Can we find sources that help us know if the richly embroidered stories are at their core true?
Enjoy a refreshing break from the holi”daze” with a special concert by the Ramswick Harp Ensemble! For their third visit to the library, Warwick harpist, Ann Carter-Cox, and harpist Penny McCulloch from Ramsey, NJ, will treat library patrons to an hour of favorite holiday and other tunes, guaranteed to please even the Grinch.
