SUMMARY:Conversations That Connect: Intro Session to We The People Warwick
 ’s Dialogue Series
DESCRIPTION:We hear the word dialogue a lot these days — but what does it
really mean?\n\nTrue dialogue goes beyond ordinary conversation. It’s a
bout slowing down\, listening deeply\, and creating space where everyone f
eels heard and respected. When we engage in dialogue\, we strengthen under
standing\, challenge assumptions\, and build the trust that holds relation
ships and communities together.\n\nJoin We the People Warwick for an intro
duction to the essential tools and strategies at the heart of their signat
ure four-session dialogue program. This introductory session offers an opp
ortunity to learn about WTPW’s proven framework for fostering trust\, un
derstanding\, and building meaningful relationships across differences. Pa
rticipants will learn how structured prompts\, active listening\, and smal
l-group discussions can spark the kind of dialogue that deepens self-aware
ness\, broadens understanding\, and strengthens our shared community. All
are welcome — teens through adults.\n\nBeverly Braxton\, Founder of We t
he People Warwick\, is an educator and community activist known for promot
ing understanding and civic engagement. A retired teacher and Orange Count
 y’s 2006 Teacher of the Year\, Beverly’s expertise in dialogue\, confl
ict resolution\, and facilitation has been shaped by training with organiz
ations such as Essential Partners\, Braver Angels\, Everyday Democracy\, t
he Fellowship of Reconciliation and bridge-building practices nationwide.
Beverly has received numerous awards\, such as the Courage Project Award (
2025)\, Bridge Building Innovation Award (2025)\, Robert J. Uplinger Award
(2024)\, Essential Partners Founders Award (2024)\, YWCA Woman of Achieve
ment Award (2013)\, and Peacemaker Award (2000). She collaborates with bri
dge building groups like the Listen First Project\, WEAVE\, Village Co\, a
nd Talk a Mile to foster dialogue and connection in Warwick and beyond.
