Permaculture is a design system for resilient and regenerative land use and ways of living, and its ecologically-based framework offers a different way for seeing and engaging with the world around us. Come and get an introduction to the basic concepts, as well as some ways you can start using it in your own life to increase resilience while helping to regenerate the ecosystems of which we are all a part.
Christopher Harrison is a NYS licensed civil engineer and the Principal of Harrison Re-Gen, a local business that helps its clients solve problems and meet their needs in ways that better encourage ecosystem and human health. Towards this end Christopher has completed two permaculture design courses (PDCs), continues to broaden his education base in permaculture-related topics, puts his ideas into practice on his small family homestead, and teaches as a guest instructor at the Midsummer Farm PDC right here in Warwick. Prior to starting his current firm, he worked for close to two decades as a consulting engineer in the NYC water and wastewater systems, specializing in storm water management and mitigation, as well as teaching high school history and mathematics.
