Annik LaFarge, author of On the High Line and Chasing Chopin, addresses the question she most frequently gets: how do you go from the High Line, a 21st century public park created on an abandoned elevated railroad in New York City, to a piano sonata by a Polish composer created in 19th century France? Using gorgeous photography and selected short video clips she finds a link in the preoccupations, philosophy and works of the Romantics.
Annik LaFarge is a writer, editor, and photographer, author of On the High Line: Exploring America's Most Original Urban Park, and Chasing Chopin: A Musical Journey Across Three Centuries, Four Countries, and a Half-Dozen Revolutions.
