DESCRIPTION:May is National Mental Health Awareness Month.\nJoin us for "En
 ding the Silence\," an engaging program designed to raise awareness and sp
 ark conversation about mental health. This presentation helps participants
  recognize the warning signs of mental health conditions and learn practic
 al steps to support themselves or a loved one.  Each session features two
  presenters: one who provides an informative overview\, and a young adult 
 who shares their personal story of living with a mental health condition a
 nd their journey of recovery. Audience members are encouraged to ask quest
 ions and take part in open dialogue—helping to build understanding\, red
 uce stigma\, and foster hope.\nThe National Alliance on Mental Illness (NA
 MI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization. Found
 ed in 1979\, NAMI offers free education\, advocacy\, and support for indiv
 iduals and families affected by mental illness. We work to expand access t
 o care\, end stigma\, and build a community of hope—because mental illne
 ss is a medical condition that can affect anyone\, at any age.\nNAMI Orang
 e County: Formerly known as NAMI-AMICO\, Inc. and AMICO (Alliance on Menta
 l Illness in the County of Orange)\, NAMI Orange County began with a small
  group of families whose loved ones were hospitalized at Middletown Psychi
 atric Center. With no support programs available at the time\, these famil
 ies—brought together by one parent’s search for connection after their
  son’s diagnosis of schizophrenia—laid the foundation for the support 
 and advocacy NAMI Orange County continues to provide today.
