SUMMARY:Stepping Into the Spotlight: Acting for the Non-Actor
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered what it’s like to stand in the spotlig
 ht—on stage or on screen? Or perhaps you’d like to feel more comfortab
 le using your voice and body\, build confidence in front of others\, and s
 harpen your public speaking skills. No experience is necessary! This intro
 ductory acting course offers a strong foundation for beginners. Through a 
 series of progressive exercises\, students will explore character developm
 ent\, emotional expression\, scene and monologue analysis\, and basic impr
 ovisation. Each activity is designed to build spontaneity\, authenticity\,
  and a deeper understanding of the actor’s craft. It’s a fun\, easygoi
 ng workshop where you’ll tap into your creativity\, grow your confidence
 \, and maybe even discover a future in community theater!\nThe class meets
  once a week for six sessions\, two hours each. Students will work in pair
 s on a scene from a movie or play (assigned by the instructor) and may inv
 ite guests to the final class to enjoy their scene performances. Space is 
 limited to 15 participants\; participation in all six sessions is strongly
