Reader's Advisory

The purpose of our Reader's Advisory is to inform readers of books of interest in many different genres such as mystery, suspense, romance, classics, etc. These links will be useful for those who read a particular author and would like to find similar authors. This is also an important resource for those who want to pick a book for a book club reading.

Here you will find resources for readers, created by the Mohawk Valley Library System, this website contains information on authors, book reviews, genres, book lists, and book group information.

Bookpage : America's Book Review
This monthly magazine contains book reviews, author interviews, an archives section, and a question and answer section where readers may submit questions about books and authors.

Barnes and Noble's Book Browser
A well organized collection of latest books in fiction, non-fiction, business & finance, children's and format searchlist.

Mostly Fiction
This comprehensive site contains a wide variety of genres ranging from Latin American literature, world literature, contemporary fiction, humorous fiction, and more.

No Flying, No Tights
An excellent resource for graphic novels for Teens (and for those just love to read graphic novels). Includes recommendations by genre, and an A-Z index by author.

The New York Times Book Page
Contains the bestseller lists, articles about authors, reading group picks, and much more. Free registration is required to access the site.

Overbooked
A New Readers Advisory for readers themselves. Easy to use. New Books, Starred, Reviews etc.

Reader's Advice
This site is very user friendly, containing an A-Z listing of big name authors, genres, and a series index by name.
