14,000 -12,000 years ago: AFTER THE GLACIERS
As soon as the glaciers retreated, the Paleoindians arrived in our valley. We know this from projectile points found that date to this time period.
1600s-1700s: LENAPE
At the time when the first explorers and trappers from Europe came, the Indian culture here was a branch of the Lenape called the Munsee or Minsee. One of their villages was located a little south of the current village boundary.
